Fall Into Reading 2008

I looooooove reading. And I love blogging.

So it stands to reason that I would absolutely LOVE blogging about reading. Right?!

Katrina at Callapidder Days is hosting her annual Fall Into Reading Challenge. Really, if you need an excuse to get motivated to pick up that book you've left on your nightstand to collect dust, or to pick up a copy of the one your best friend just recommended, this is it.

I, personally, never need an excuse to read more! But what I do like about the Challenge is it gets me reading some non-fiction. Or at least thinking about it. Readers of my old blog may recall that I had the exact same two non-fiction books on my Fall AND Spring challenge lists.

And still didn't read them!

Although I am happy to report I did finally read the one this summer.

I abandoned the other one!

Anyhoo, I've been working on a list for awhile now. And with any luck, they'll all come in at the library before December. And not all at once.

Here's my list - I'll be posting it on my sidebar this week, too, so you can keep track of my progress!

Non-Fiction (which I PROMISE to read this time!)
  1. Nurture, by Lisa Bevere (I'm cheating a bit with this one. I'm almost done, but I want to add it so I can cross it off!
  2. Behind Those Eyes, by Lisa Whittle
  3. The Busy Woman's Guide To Total Fitness: Strengthen Your Body And Spirit In 20 Minutes a Day, by Laurette Willis
  4. Becoming The Woman God Wants Me To Be: A 90 Day Guide To Living The Proverbs 31 Life, by Donna Partow

Fiction

  1. The Longing, by Beverly Lewis
  2. Sunset, by Karen Kingsbury (only because I need to finish this series. I am seriously tired of these people!! Just sayin'!)
  3. Adam, by Ted Dekker
  4. Sinner, by Ted Dekker (if my bloggy friend Kristen likes Ted Dekker, then I HAVE to read him!)
  5. The Edge of Recall, by Kristen Heitzmann
  6. The Host: a novel, by Stephenie Meyer

There you have it. I have no doubt I will get all this read by December 20th. I do have more fiction on order at the library, but these are the ones I really want to read. Which means if by December 1st I still haven't been called by the nice lady who replaced me at the library (which job I desperately miss, by the way!), I will be forced to order them on Amazon.ca. Consider yourself warned, sweet and wonderful husband of mine!

Head on over to Callapidder Days to check out what other bloggers are reading!

I LOVE your list. Its funny-I'm the opposite-I have a hard time getting fiction in but lately feel it would be a great break from the real world! I have a Bev. Lewis book on mine too-love your blog, hope to come back and check it out more.

I love your blog title! I was reminded of the Proverbs 31 Partow book...I've had it recommended before...maybe I'll add it to my list if I work through all my Non-fiction!

Our taste in books is SO similiar. Eric grabbed Sinner for himself so I am waiting for him to finish it up so I can start it. Dekker never disappoints in my opinion.

And dear Karen Kingsbury - I could not agree more with you, I am OVER those people. But I really felt I had to finish out the series too. At least they are easy reads!

A few of yours I am adding to my post-Fall reading list! : )

Looks like many of us are longing for "The Longing". Ok, I'll admit that was corny! Looks like a great list. Enjoy your fall reading time. :) (if I keep reading these lists, my own list is going to grow into something I can't possibly finish!!)

Good for you for sticking with the Karen Kingsbury series. I gave up long ago. Thanks for the other great selections. I've been thinking about reading Ted Dekker, but I haven't delved in yet.

Excellent book list. I'm very interested in Nurture, I may have to pick that up. Thanks for visiting!

That looks like a great list. I have never read any of Kingsbury.. I might have to try one out :-)

I'm a Ted Dekker fan too, though I've never read the ones on your list. And I loved The Host -- it pulled me right in!

Thanks for being part of the challenge!

I'm with Angela! I have a hard time getting a fiction fix, guess I put off having fun myself. My goal is to find more books for entertainment. Use to Read Kingsbury a lot. I need to check out some of the newer ones! Off to check out the P31 book...

Great list!
