A Few Little (but hopefully good) Changes

I am so glad to be back - last week was just what I needed. Although I do have to confess that at one point I tried desperately to get onto the Internet while we camped out in the woods. (By camping, I mean in a cabin. With running water and electricity. None of that Survivor Man stuff for me, thankyouverymuch!) Anyway, Kev discovered the first night we were there that his little modem actually worked at the lake, albeit at such a pace as to make dial-up look like a jet plane.

Did you notice it was my husband who first tried to get online? He had a very important roto baseball trade deadline to meet. So he says.

The next day it was pouring rain, and then the next day promised to be much of the same, so I sat down with my cup of coffee (brewed with the help of running water and electricity) and tried to get online. Which I did. Only I discovered that while I could see just how many e-mails were waiting in my inbox, I couldn't actually read any of them.

And now you know my real reason for not being a camping fanatic.

So after a forced hiatus from the online world, of which I truly am thankful, I have come back fully recharged and ready to go. In fact on Saturday I was telling my cupcake Kristen that I actually woke up feeling productive.

Don't worry. It didn't last very long.

So. I know you are dying to know all about my trip, and I do promise to give details, complete with pictures (yay!), although, to be honest that whole paragraph about me trying to get online pretty much was as exciting as it gets. Really. But you'll have to wait. Just for a day or two. I promise! I actually have a point to this post somewhere in my head. Hang in there with me, 'kay?

Over the next while you'll notice a few changes around here as I do a bit of an overhaul. If you've been here for any amount of time, you'll know I like to change the look of things every now and then. It's not that I don't appreciate the efforts of my fabulous behind-the-scenes Thin Mint who is the genius behind all these makeovers - I do! I'm just discovering I like changing my blog's look about as often as I like changing my handbag. I mean, what girl doesn't need a new handbag every so often? Seriously.

The other change I will be incorporating is less obvious - I'm going to do my best to be a little bit more personal here, assuming you actually want to know more about this crazy, random girl! As my writing opportunities expand, I need a place to just hang out and relax with a cup of coffee, you know? Expect the usual randomness, questionable grammar, run-on sentences, etc. It's what I seem to do best!

One more thing - Books, Blogs, & Brownies: The Book Club will be starting up again in the fall. Any suggestions for a book we could read? I have a few ideas, but I'd like to hear yours, too. Keep in mind the books we read for BBB need to glorify God, since, you know, that's kind of the whole point of why we do what we do.

Now, because I love you, here is a picture from my vacay. Just to keep you happy until I actually write that post.

Yes, I am at the beach. And yes, it really was that cold.

Enjoy your day, Lovelies!

I am glad you had a refreshing vacation. I cannot believe you are wearing a sweater. We were in TX and it was 105 degrees everyday. You do not want to see a picture of what I looked like in 105 temps. HA!

Book club idea - CRAZY LOVE by Frances Chan. It is the same one Lauren was raving about. My husband and I just started it and it is fabulous. Just an idea.
Have a great day!
Blessings,
Amy

Glad you enjoyed your cold and rainy vacation! I don't have a book idea but think I'll join you this time around...so make sure you give heads up to get our books in time! I change my blog "look" regularly just cuz it's fun to mess with the html, etc. HA! Well, and I'm cheap and won't pay anyone to do it! Smiles!!!

There goes my idea for an all girl camping trip next summer! I was thinking tent, fire, camping stove, getting back to creation....... tempted? Looking forward to your changes. By the way, do you have a new purse?

I knew we were meant to meet...flip flops and a sweater while on the beach freezing to pieces...just my speed!

I cannot wait to see the changes that are upcoming...I'm attempting to do the more personal thing myself. A couple of my lovely friends talked me into it. ;P

I hope you aren't as intimidated as I am about this whole transparency thing. I'm really looking forward to getting to know you better!

I am excited to see what new changes the future will hold for you blog! This weekend I am going to Northern Minnesota with a group of ladies. Secretly, some of us would like to see a storm roll over the lake! ;) I am glad you still had a good time with a little R&R.

Wow. I didn't know it would be that cold in the summer!

Looking forward to seeing the changes you've got up your sleeve. XOXO

Great closing pic! What about Joyce Meyer's new novel with Deborah Bedford, Any Minute? It's her second one after The Penny, which is my current fave.

I'm glad you're back :)
I will totally be joining in the book club this fall, as I need the motivation to read something other than case books when school is in full swing.

That said, I have no suggestions. I don't read many (read, hardly ANY) Christian books. I just can't seem to find ones that are well-written. I know they're out there, but I just have no luck and just don't feel like continually trying out recommendations only to be bored or frustrated.

That said, I will read (and love, I'm sure) anything you pick, Lady :D

I'm just impressed you're wearing flip flops. That shows you could survive in the South, because we wear flip flops year round, even when it's freezing (read: 40's). :)

I like the idea of Crazy Love. But I like fiction for book clubs. I recommend anything by Angela Hunt. I've read 1 1/2 of her books and I love both of them.

I'm going against the grain when I say I wasn't all that impressed with Crazy/Love by Francis Chan. I love when he teaches but that book was boring to me...

I like fiction too for book clubs. What about something Jane Austen? Or Austen themed at the very least? That would be fun!
